Ruby Tuesday Resturant

One time I went to a restaurant and was completely surprised by the waitress' signing. She learned them simply to communicate with her hearing baby (from baby signs books and dvds)...never learned from any classes or other deaf people. Her signs were appropriate for ASL and for waitressing. Amazing!

BTW, the HQ of Ruby Tuesday isn't far from here....Maryville, TN

It's always great to see anyone signing to their consumers. I am glad that you're helping her to learn ASL. You're right about "welcome" sign. I did that all the time to remind everyone that "welcome" is like an invitation. Thanks for sharing. And good luck to you at school.

What a nice thing for them to ask and a nice thing for you to offer to teach them signs. I wish more businesses did that.

Wow! That's so cool!

Nice of boss suggested any of waitress to learn ASL! It is not very common to waitress since the boss suggested waitress. Of course, I agree that it is very impressived alot to deaf customer.
